SPE Tech Days 2024
The SPE Tech Days concept was born almost four years ago from a brainstorming session of a group of Young Professionals of SPE Romania.
The main idea was to provide access to up-to-date information not only to students and young professionals but also to companies in the energy field, enable constructive discussions, and a type of exposure that would pave the path to innovating ideas, bring clarity, perspective, and spark the interest in the opportunities the energy industry has to offer!
Technical presentations, access to companies and academia, a career fair, engaging conversation, and student exchange experience…or...all of them!
The event…..
In 2022 the first edition of SPE Tech Days took place. It started big, with a three-day lineup that proved to be successful and was maintained in future editions too.
1st edition of SPE Tech Days, 12th- 14th of April 2022
2nd edition of SPE Tech Days, 3rd-5th of May 2023
Every year the event becamebetter and better!
This year, the third edition of SPE Tech Days was held, with more than 180 participants from Romania and abroad, and the feedback was overwhelming and inspiring!
3rd edition of SPE Tech Days, 15th-17th of May 2024
The event proved of great interest to both industry companies and students and teachers from various academic institutions, including the Petroleum-Gas University of Ploiești, the Faculty of Geology and Geophysics of the University of Bucharest, the Faculty of Geology and Geophysics of the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iași and the specialization in Transport, Distribution, and Storage of Hydrocarbons from the Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu but also students, professionals, and professors from Austria, Spain, Hungary, Serbia, Croatia, and Italy attended the event.
The lineup of 2024’s edition…
During the three days event, the participant attended:
- 12 technical presentations on a variety of topics from the exploratory phases for energy sources to geothermal aspects of the future and artificial intelligence;
- 2 panel discussions elaborating on the possibilities of being in the energy world and strengthening the ties of the professional energy world and academia;
- SPEctacular Career Fair with companies participating and showcasing their abilities to prospective students/young professionals for hiring.

SPE Tech Days is about the power of collective effort, about people who want to do more, and about a team of ambitious volunteers!
The best feeling is realizing the decision of people is to keep on showing up in organizing, supporting, and working for what now is a pillar event of the SPE Romanian Section!
Even better is that while doing so…we all gained valuable people that we can now call friends!
