SPE Romania, SPE Vienna Basin, SPE Spain and SPE Ivano-Frankivsk Sections are pleased to announce the Technical Presentation: Rate transient analysis, hosted by Layla Mahmood from IHS Markit.

The session presents an exciting opportunity to become familiar with the fundamentals of modern techniques in rate transient analysis (RTA) for the assessment of reserves and reservoir characterization through the analysis of flow rates and pressures. Also, to gain further insights into the application of RTA through workflow examples using IHS Markit Harmony Enterprise software.

RTA introduction and workflows:

  • Introduction to RTA – What is RTA and why should we use it?
  • Typecurves
  • Flowing Material Balance (FMB) and Multiphase FMB
  • Applications of Rate Transient Analysis
      • Reservoir Group Identification
      • Interference
      • Pressure Support
      • Waterfloods

Presenter:
Layla Mahmood
is a reservoir engineering associate for IHS Markit based out of the London Ropemaker Office. Miss Mahmood graduated with a B.Eng. in Petroleum Engineering from Portsmouth University.
